Many newcomers ask, “What can I do?” This is a valid question that even long-time Christians ask as well. We strive to be an active body, where each person has an active role in the life and health of the church. One thing we want to avoid is people feeling apathetic or discouraged because they feel that they don’t have a purpose as a Christian. 1 Corinthians 12 tells us that the church is a “body,” where there are many different parts that work in tandem with each other. There is rhythm and health which results from each member contributing according to his or her gifts.
It is our deep desire to help each person find their spiritual gift, whether it be service, encouragement, wisdom, etc., and to use their God-given gifts to help keep the body healthy. Part of being a follower of Jesus is to use one’s gifts for edification and to share the Gospel message. If you are interested in identifying and using your spiritual gifts, talk to our minister or spiritual leaders and they can begin to point you in the right direction.
